Change of Location for Midwife services
From October Midwife Clinics will no longer be held at the surgery. Instead patients will be able to see a midwife at Loseley Fields Children centre in Godalming. Clinics will be run on Tuesday and Friday mornings for Wonersh patients. Georgina Patterson will continue to be the midwife.
The Royal Surrey County Hospital will be sending letters direct to patients to advise of the above changes.
Change in Named GP
Regrettably as many of you are aware Dr Amit Seyan will be leaving the practice at the end of July.
We are pleased to advise that Dr Matthew Bennett will be taking up his new role as a salaried GP from 1 August 2017.
Dr Seyan's patients will be transferred to Dr Bennett. As a result of these changes there is no need for patients to take any action. As always patients are free to see any doctor of their choice.
Dr Sian Jones
From 1st April Dr Sian Jones will be on secondment at Guildford & Waverley Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), where she is a Board Member and Clinical Lead for Cancer and End of Life Care.
Her patient list will be distributed between the other doctors to allow for comprehensive care during the secondment.
Dr Jones will be in for occasional surgeries.
Accessible Information Standard
The Accessible Information Standard (AIS) is a new NHS England information standard which all organisations that provide NHS or adult social care are required to implement.
The AIS aims to ensure that people who have a disability, impairment or sensory loss receive information that they can access and understand, for example in large print or via email or professional communication support if required , for example from a British Sign Language (BSL) interpreter.
Please let us know if you have any particular information or communication needs and how best we can meet these needs.
Retirement of Dr Dominique Daulton
After many years at Wonersh Surgery Dr Dominique Daulton will be retiring from the practice at the end of June.
Dr Daulton would like to thank patients for their kindness and support over the years and wishes them good health and happiness for their futures.
As always patients are free to see any doctor of their choice. In due course Dr Daulton's patients will be registered with Dr Amit Seyan. As a result of these changes there is no need for patients to take any action.
New Triage Service
We are now introducing a new triage service here at Wonersh Surgery. It's proven to be very beneficial in other practices in reducing waiting times for appointments.
This will be operating three mornings a week starting from Tuesday 3rd May. When there are no more available on the day appointments and you still need to be seen, your details will be taken and passed onto the triage team for someone to call you back.
We do ask, and would be very grateful if you could give reception some idea of your problem when you call so that we can ensure the correct person calls you back.
Change in Named Doctor
Following the departure of Dr Katharine Pink, we are pleased to advise that Dr Sasha Wyatt will be working full time at the surgery. Dr Pink's patients will be split between Dr Wyatt and Dr Mithen. Patients whose surname begins with the letters A to M will transfer to Dr Wyatt and patients whose surname begins with N to Z will transfer to Dr Mithen.
However this does not stop patients from seeing any other doctor of their choice within the practice.
Patient on-line Services
In addition to booking /cancelling appointments and requesting repeat prescriptions, patients can now view various aspects of their medical record on-line. These include immunisations, allergies, test results and coded details e.g medical conditions.
Please ask Reception for an information leaflet. Patients will be required to provide ID to view information on-line.
Electronic Prescription Service
The Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) is an NHS service. It gives you the chance to change how your GP sends your prescription to the place you choose to get your medicines or appliances from.
The service enables us to send your repeat prescriptions to the pharmacy of your choice, where you live, work or shop.
To use EPS you need to choose a place for the surgery to electronically send your prescription to. This is called a ‘nomination’. You can arrange this by filling in a form at your pharmacy or in the surgery.
Should you wish to change your nomination or cancel the service, you can do this at any time. Please advise your pharmacy or the surgery before your next prescription is due.
