Child Immunisation & Development Clinics
Childhood Immunisation & Development clinics are held on Mondays from 13:30 – 15:30. Please make an appointment with reception for immunisations. Appointments for routine development checks (e.g. eight weeks and one year checks) will be forwarded to you at the appropriate times.
These are run on a regular basis on Tuesday afternoons. All our patients with diabetes are invited for review either by the practice or by the hospital clinics or some are shared. We have been fortunate in being able to put together a full diabetic care team including a dietician and a chiropodist, in addition to the doctor and practice nurses.
These are held each year in October and November. Patients who are at risk and who are over the age of 65 should make an appointment at reception in person or by telephone in early October. People particularly at risk include those with asthma or chest disease, diabetes, chronic heart disease, renal disease and those who are immuno-supressed because of medication or disease.
Asthma & Spirometry Clinics
Our specially trained nurses run asthma and spirometry clinics . Please do make an appointment for an "Initial Assessment" and regular check tips. We find that by regular and thorough review we have managed to reduce most people's symptoms and improve their quality of life.
For patients who are taking anticoagulants, (Warfarin) we are able to offer a full monitoring service at the Surgery daily

Minor Surgery Clinics
We offer a surgical service at the practice, carrying out minor procedures. Please speak to your GP for further information or if you would like to be referred.
Ladies are encouraged to be seen regularly by our specialist nurses, for cervical (cancer) screening, breast examination advice. Invitations for smear tests are sent to patients directly from the Primary Care Organisation. You may, of course, see your own doctor for any of these services if you prefer.
Travel Immunisation Clinics
Our practice nurses are up to date with the knowledge and expertise needed to advise you on your needs. Please give as much notice as possible by filling in a Travel Clinic form. More information and a downloadable form can be found on the above tab.
There are charges for some items and vaccines.
If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to make an appointment with the practice nurse to discuss your travel arrangements. This will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required.
There is further information about countries and vaccinations required on the links below:
It is important to make this initial appointment as early as possible - at least 6 weeks before you travel - as a second appointment will be required with the practice nurse to actually receive the vaccinations. These vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine. Your second appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.
Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.
Travel Health Questionnaire
To help us offer the appropriate advice, please fill out the online form before coming to see the nurse.
